A place to sleep well
Eponimo is built around sleep. The bed, up on the mezzanine, is a 180×200 king with a Dorelan mattress and a 6 cm memory topper; the linen is changed for every arrival. Each room has its own air conditioning.
The spaces
Eponimo is the suite on two levels. The main room is 19 sq m: on the mezzanine, the king bed and a 43-inch smart TV; below, the living room with the double sofa bed, a desk with a monitor and a 55-inch smart TV. The kitchen is a room of its own, 8.3 sq m, with a hob, dishwasher, microwave and kettle, plus a 32-inch TV. The private bathroom has a window and a walk-in shower with a low tray, no grab bars. The suite also has a washing machine (no tumble dryer), an iron and a hair dryer.
There are two balconies, one at the front and one at the back. The suite is on the first floor of a period building with no other residents: two flights of stairs, no lift. Inside, a staircase leads up to the bed.
How many guests
The suite sleeps four: two in the king bed on the mezzanine and two in the sofa bed in the living room. There is one bathroom; two couples or two families are better off booking Eponimo and Basileo together.
Arrival and house rules
The suite has a smart lock, so you check in from 14:00 and check out by 11:00 on your own. The minimum stay is 2 nights, 3 in some periods. No pets, parties or events. Only registered guests may enter the suite. Parking is on the street, in the paid blue-line bays.
The Duomo and Corso Garibaldi are three minutes on foot from the front door; Reggio Calabria Centrale station is six, the Lungomare Falcomatà ten, and the National Archaeological Museum, home of the Riace Bronzes, twenty.
The name
Via degli Arconti is named after the archons, the magistrates who governed the Greek cities. Two of them were the basileus, who kept the city’s rites, and the eponymous archon, who gave his name to the year. The two suites carry their names: this one is Eponimo.
