A place to sleep well
Eponimo is the suite on two levels. The main room is 19 sq m. The 180×200 king bed, with a Dorelan mattress and a 6 cm memory topper, sits on the mezzanine. Below it is the living room, with a double sofa bed. The linen is changed for every arrival. Each room has its own air conditioning.
The spaces
On the mezzanine, the king bed and a 43-inch smart TV. Below, the living room with the sofa bed, a desk with a monitor and a 55-inch smart TV. The kitchen is a room of its own, 8.3 sq m, with a hob, dishwasher, microwave and kettle, plus a 32-inch TV. The private bathroom has a window and a walk-in shower with a low tray, no grab bars. The suite also has a washing machine (no tumble dryer), an iron and a hair dryer.
There are two balconies, one at the front and one at the back. The suite is on the first floor of a period building with no other residents: two flights of stairs, no lift. Inside, a staircase leads up to the bed.
Who it is for
A couple who want a room on two levels, in the centre. Anyone working in Reggio for a few days or a few weeks: the separate kitchen and the desk make it a home. A family with older children who sleep on their own on the sofa bed. The mezzanine stairs call for a steady step, so Eponimo is not suitable for small children and has no cot.
The suite sleeps four: two in the king bed on the mezzanine and two in the sofa bed in the living room. There is one bathroom; two couples or two families are better off booking Eponimo and Basileo together.
Arrival and house rules
You let yourself in with a code, any time from 14:00; check-out is by 11:00. The minimum stay is 2 nights, 3 in some periods. No pets, no parties. Parking is on the street, in the paid blue-line bays.
The Duomo is 150 metres from the front door. Corso Garibaldi and the Lungomare Falcomatà are a short walk away; the National Archaeological Museum, home of the Riace Bronzes, is about 10 minutes on foot.
The name
The name comes from the eponymous archon, the magistrate who gave his name to the year. He is one of the two archons – the magistrates of the Greek cities – after whom the street is named; the other, the basileus, gives his name to the first suite.
